I took a different approach to this connection.. I took Obama's Yes We Can speech and Martin Luther King's Letter From a Birmingham Jail. Barack Obama and Martin Luther King have similar qualities and King's goals compare to what Obama is trying to prove. Two men trying to prove a point to change their country in the best way possible. They both wanted/want change. The two excerpts that I took from King's Letter stood out to me because I felt that Obama felt the same way. Although Obama is not necessarily speaking out against racial equality, I think it plays a huge factor on who he is as a man and how far he has come.
